Caught In The Current

Caught in the Current examines processes of emotional and environmental transformation through the metaphorical and material properties of water. An original poem, displayed in the center of the circular installation, emphasizes the dual experience of drowning while reflecting on the waters of Lake Michigan. The writing describes a physical force of suffocation and an emotional state, consumed by racing thoughts, that inform the layered textures and configuration of the visual work.
